Phase One – Preparing the Field | Phase Two – The Practice of Transformatiional Coaching | Phase Three – Dynamics of Deep Transformation | Phase Four – Unfolding Mastery – From Team Coaching to Transformational Leadership DIPLOMA IN TRANSFORMATIONAL COACHING AND LEADERSHIP
The Transformational Coaching Diploma training focuses progressively on these different levels of unfolding – change, learning, and growth – so that the coach can recognize and work with them appropriately, addressing immediate needs, while respecting overall development. Phase One - Preparing the Field Phase One prepares the coach-in-training to have the fundamental attitudes, frames, and skills needed to conduct coaching in general, and Transformational Coaching in particular, in a professional manner. We provide the fundamental elements to support change in the client through coaching. We learn how to identify and support changes in behaviour that impact performance, helping the client make changes he or she is fully aligned with. In the First Module, we develop the micro communication skills and models for understanding and engaging with the client’s world. Participants develop a coaching attitude and non-directive approach. In the Second Module, we learn how to set a direction for coaching with the client and to influence key patterns in how the client thinks, perceives, and behaves. Phase Two - The Practice of Transformational Coaching We begin practising basic Transformational Coaching successfully with clients. We bring clients and their performance into alignment through a process of ‘reverse learning’, freeing stuck patterns of thinking and behaviour arising from old learning. In the First Module, we develop the patterning and modelling skills to help coaches enter and understand the client's world accurately. In the Second Module, we develop the abilities needed to work with the deep patterns of the client, particularly the underlying beliefs and assumptions that shape both strengths and weaknesses of the client. In these units, we develop the larger order patterns of thinking and communication for managing the coaching process as a whole and for elegantly handling the complexity of the client's world. N.B. Where possible, we partner with companies who might not otherwise have access to coaching, to have trainee coaches gain valuable experience, while selected personnel enjoy valuable support and development. Phase Three - Dynamics of Deep Transformation Here, we learn how to stimulate a still deeper embedding of performance within alignment in the client, as the coach also ripens personally and professionally. We help the practising coach bring his or her skills to a new level of integration. We consider the nature of growth and how to support it in the client through the process of Re•Patterning. In the First Module, we learn how to identify the very deepest patterns and dicholtomies at the heart of the client's way of being in the world and explore how to make these the source of greater strength and coherence in the client's personal and professional life. In the Second Module, we learn how to identify and provide pertinent feedback based on the client's own deep choreography. We situate coaching interventions in the broader picture of his or her development and consider how to integrate problematic elements arising from the client's deep patterns in the natural process of growth unfolding over time. Phase Four - Unfolding Mastery: From Team Coaching to Transformational Leadership Phases One to Three equip the coach with the skills and frames to help individuals identify and realize their personal and professional aspirations. Phase Four places individual development in the context of the larger systems in which he or she is embedded. Phase Four equips the Transformational Coach to work with the performance and alignment of groups and teams. Phase Four deepens the qualities of leadership in the Transformational Coach, while supporting the unfolding of leadership qualities among members of the groups, teams, and organizations he or she is assisting. We seed development of the personal qualities that will bring the process of coaching to a new level of mastery and at the same time allow participants to help unfold the same qualities in others. Phase Four prepares the Transformational Coach to become a coach of coaches. |
